BBSBEC boasts of a great acadmia-industry relationship. A large number of faculty memebrs are associated with industries of repute through various research projects and other realted assignments.  

Faculty members of the Mechanical Engineering Department are undertaking some R&D work for the development of high temperature erosion/corrosion resistant thermal spray coatings for the power plant boilers and other similar applications in collaboration with the following industries:

1. Guru Gobind Singh Thermal Super Power Plant, Ropar, Punjab, India.
2. Metallizing Equipment Company Pvt. Ltd, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India.
3. ASB Industries, Inc, Barbeton, Ohio, USA.

In addition to that, IBM has also established a Software Center of Excellence at BBSBEC.
