SRE 2011 RESULT

 

GUIDELINES/INFORMATION FOR THE CANDIDATES APPEARING IN SIKH RELIGION EXAMINATION (SRE-2011)

1. Sikh Religion examination is being conducted by Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib, on behalf of SGPC. This qualifying examination is for 50% reserved seats in the following SGPC run institutes:

a) BBSB Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib.
b) BBSB Polytechnic College, Fatehgarh Sahib
c) Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana.
d) Guru Nanak Dev Polytechnic, Ludhiana.

2. For admission to these colleges under Sikh minority quota, candidates must qualify the Sikh Religion Examination (SRE) conducted by SGPC. A candidate shall be eligible for admission by securing 36% marks in this test. Admission will however be made on the basis of AIEEE/JET.

3. The examination is to be held on 29th May 2011 from 1130 hrs to 1230 hrs in the following centres:
a) BBSB Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib.
b) Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana.
c) Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Dental Science & Research, Amritsar.
d) Mata Sundri Public School, Kotshameer (Distt- Bathinda)

4. The application forms shall be available at the counter of BBSBEC, Fatehgarh Sahib from 16.05.2011 to 27.05.2011 (except 22nd May [Sunday]). This form shall have to be brought to the BBSB Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib.

5. Application on the prescribed form is to be submitted to Coordinator (SRE) c/o Principal, BBSB Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib. The admit cards to be collected personally by the candidates on the spot from 16.05.2011 to 27.05.2011 (except 22nd May [Sunday]).

6. The documents to be annexed with the applications are:
a) Photocopy of Admit Card of AIEEE-11, +2/JET-11, matric
b) Two passport size photographs.
c) Cash/DD for Rs. 500/- in favour of coordinator (SRE) payable at Fatehgarh Sahib/Sirhind.
d) Self declaration “I belong to Sikh religion abide by principles of Sikhism have faith in ten Sikh Gurus and Sri Guru Granth Sahib and maintain complete Sikh appearance (“Sikh Saroop”) wear Turban (only for male candidates), do not cut hair, do have word Singh / Kaur suffixed with the name and do not believe in any other Sect” as per format given on here. The self declaration submitted should be countersigned by one of the parents of the candidate/ legal guardian.

7. In case the name of the candidate does not include “Singh / Kaur” the candidate shall have to submit a copy of affidavit and cutting of the newspaper carrying the advertisement for the change of name.

8. The suggested books (SGPC Publications) for the preparation of the exam are: Sikh Itihas Part-I and Part-II by Prof. Kartar Singh, Dharam Pothi No. 9 & 10, Sikh Rahit Maryada, Sikh Faith by Gurbax Singh.
